# ChatGPT

> Connect ChatGPT to the Affinity MCP Server via the published Affinity app

## Supported ChatGPT surfaces

This guide covers ChatGPT on **web** (chat.openai.com), the **desktop apps** (macOS / Windows),
and the **iOS / Android** apps. All use the same underlying account configuration.

The Affinity app is **not supported** in the [OpenAI API](https://platform.openai.com/) or via
custom GPTs. Those are different products. This guide is for the ChatGPT consumer / team /
enterprise product specifically.

## Prerequisites

**Affinity**

* **Plan**: Scale, Advanced, or Enterprise (required for API and MCP access).
* **Admin setup**: None required by default. If an Affinity admin has disabled ChatGPT under
  **Settings → Affinity MCP**, ask them to re-enable it.

**ChatGPT**

* **Plan**: Any plan, Free and up.
* **Admin setup**: None. The Affinity app is published in the ChatGPT app directory, so
  developer mode is not required.

## Connect the Affinity app

1. In ChatGPT, open **Apps** from the left nav.
2. Search for **Affinity** and select the matching result.
3. On the app page, click **Connect**. Optionally enable **Reference memories and chats**, then
   click **Sign in with Affinity** to start the OAuth flow.
4. Once connected, click **Start chat** to open a new chat with the Affinity app attached.

## Using the Affinity app in future chats

In any new chat, you can invoke Affinity in two ways:

* **Implicitly**: reference *"in Affinity"* in your prompt and ChatGPT will pick the appropriate
  tools.
* **Explicitly**: click the **+** button, choose **More**, and select the **Affinity** app.

## Reconnecting

If you need to re-authenticate:

1. Go to **Apps** and search for **Affinity**.
2. Click the matching result, then click the **gear icon** → **Disconnect**.
3. Click **Connect** to start a fresh OAuth flow.

## Test your connection

Once connected, try one of these prompts in ChatGPT:

* *Find 3 companies I emailed in the last 30 days in Affinity.*
* *Show me my upcoming meetings in Affinity.*
* *Summarize recent activity on Acme Corp in Affinity.*
